JAMMU: Anoop of Master Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi lifted the First Hut Parthal Dangal title outplaying Vikas of Malikpur in Punjab in the main bout that took place at Serbad near Holy Town of Karta in district Reasi.
President of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was Chief Guest who gave away Rs 6,000 cash prize to winner Anoop while Vikas was honoured with of Rs 5,000. Local businessman, Papu Lakri presided over the function while senior National Conference leader, Sher Singh, Advocate Padam Dev Singh, Sub- Inspector, S.S Manhas and Sarpanch Baldev Singh were Guests of Honour.
This Dangal was organised by Hut-Parthal Dangal Committee Katra in association with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Around 50 bouts were decided in this day-long Dangal wherein wrestlers from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and other locals participated.
In the second main bout, wrestler Raju of Delhi defeated wrestler Mohammad Akram of Jammu in a tough bout that lasted 23 minutes. A cash prize of Rs. 3,500 was given away to Raju while runners-up Akram got Rs. 2,500. Third main bout was won by Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu beating Nawaj Ali of Mallerkotla in Punjab.
Among others present were Sarpanch Panchayat Hut-Parthal, Ratten Singh, contractor Dina Nath, Naib Sarpanch Sham Lal and Pritam Singh Wazir. President of the Hut-Parthal Dangal Committee, Ratten Singh supervised the wrestling event.
Organising Committee members and the technical officials included Sonu Panch, Makhan Singh, Prem Chand, Som Raj Sharma, Romesh Singh, Numberdar Prem Singh, Baldev Raj Sharma (ex. Sarpanch), Capt. (Retd.) Lehar Singh, Mohd. Fareed, Papu Lakri, Bittu Raina and Murli Dhar (Munna).
Other Results: Murad Ali of Domana Jammu beat Sunny of Khanna, Bobari of Jammu defeated Bittu of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi, Vicky of Delhi beat Suneet Singh of Kalakote, Balwan Singh of Mahore defeated Mohanu of Rajasthan, Parveen of Delhi beat Prahald of Kalakote, Sunny of Khanna beat Vicky of Delhi, Teg Singh of Panasa Reasi defeated Lucky of Jammu. Bouts between Murad Ali of Jammu and Bittu of Delhi and Pritam Singh of Mahore and Sanjay of Haryana ended in a draw.
